Cabarete
Cabarete
is a petite, relaxed beach village in the Dominican Republic,
located a mere 20 minutes journey away from Puerta Plata
International Airport. Puerta Plata International Airport
sits on the northern shore of the Dominican Republic.
The
Dominican Republic is situated on the island of Hispaniola,
and is a distinct nation occupying two thirds of the island.
The other third of the island to the west is the territory
of Haiti.
As a
beach village in the Caribbean, Cabarete enjoys a tropical
climate. Cabarete is a settlement that spans a beautiful
beach of golden sand. The entrance of the bay is guarded
by an offshore reef, calming the water of the bay from the
more extreme effects of the prevailing trade winds. That
being said, the bay is famous for the excellent conditions
for water sports, with winds and waves perfect for kiteboarding,
windsurfing and traditional surfing.
These
conditions have led to the village of Cabarete becoming
a popular destination for young holiday makers wishing to
combine the traditional beach holiday with options for a
bit of adventure, along with the serious kiteboarding and
windsurfing set. The Dominican Republic contains four mountain
ranges, and as such also offers the adventurous some activities
away from the beach, in the form of walking excursions and
mountain biking, as well as canyoning. Back in the water,
and along the coast, there is also the opportunity for scuba
diving and cave exploring.
Many
people come to Cabarete simply to unwind, soak up the glorious
sunshine, and relax with a dip in the warm Caribbean waters,
in a quiet location that has not been overdeveloped. The
condos and studios offered by Hotel Cabarete are surrounded
by the classic tropical backdrop of numerous palm trees,
and are situated right in the centre of Cabarete.
